Maria Bertel Research Area

Maria Bertel and her team focus in particular on digitalisation in public law, examining both the major structural upheavals and specific aspects of digitalisation. Another focus of research in the department is on the connection between digitalisation and sustainability. Numerous third-party-funded projects deal with the question of how digitalisation can be used as a tool for climate protection and sustainable development, currently for example in the EU project DeCO2, which deals with technical, social and legal innovations for sustainable renovation solutions to decarbonise the building stock.
