Christoph Bezemek
Christoph Bezemek is Professor of Public Law at the Department of Public Law and Political Science. He has held numerous visiting teaching appointments at universities in Europe, Africa, and North America. His research focuses on Constitutional Law, Free Speech, and Legal and Political Theory, on which he has published extensively. Christoph Bezemek is fundamentally concerned with the relationship between the individual and the state: How does the law balance the interests of both sides? How are conflicts of interest resolved? At which point must individual freedom be restricted for the common good? He is, among other things, the Co-Editor-in-Chief of the Vienna Journal on International Constitutional Law (ICL-Journal) and a Co-Editor of Hart’s “Vienna Lectures on Legal Philosophy” Series.
