Head of Research Team Stefan Storr
Stefan Storr is Professor of Public Law and Public Commercial Law. His research specialises in Austrian and German constitutional and administrative law, public commercial law, energy law, the law of local authorities and EU law.
He received his doctorate from the University of Jena in 1994 and habilitated in 2001, also in Jena, with his thesis on "The State as Entrepreneur". He also worked as a lawyer in Leipzig and as a deputy professor at the Universities of Jena and Munich and at the Technical University of Dresden.
In 2008, he accepted an appointment at the University of Graz, where he was Professor of Public Law and European Economic Law until 2018. In 2011 and 2014, Stefan Storr was a visiting scholar at Rutgers Law School, New Jersey/USA. From 2011 to 2016, he held the position of Vice Dean and Dean of Research, and from 2016 to 2018, Dean of the Faculty of Law in Graz.
In 2018, he moved to the Vienna University of Economics and Business before returning to the University of Graz in 2022.
He is the author of several books and specialist articles, primarily on public commercial law and administrative and administrative procedural law, in which he deals in particular with legal issues relating to the European Single Market, the law of public companies, energy law and legal issues relating to artificial intelligence, including their international implications.
