Theresa Zwach

Theresa Zwach took up her position as a university assistant at the Department of Public Law and Political Science in the research team Storr at the beginning of May 2023. During her studies at the University of Graz, she worked for four years as a student assistant at the Institute for Corporate Law and International Business Law for Prof. Dr Grünwald. In addition, she worked as a legal assistant in the private sector and gained experience through various internships, including in court. In 2021, she moved to the Department of Constitutional Law and Political Science (Department of Public Corporate Law) at the JKU Linz under the supervision of Prof. Dr Fuchs. There, she worked on a research project on freedom of information in cooperation with the state of Upper Austria and returned to the University of Graz in 2023 for her dissertation project.

Theresa Zwach's research interests range from freedom of information law, general administrative and administrative procedural law to Austrian and European fundamental and human rights protection. In her dissertation project entitled "On the constitutional limits of the 'noble' lie", she analyses the (tense) relationship between freedom of expression and freedom of opinion. In doing so, she also incorporates interdisciplinary findings from the fields of legal theory, philosophy and social science.
