University Professor Dr Markus Fallenböck
Univ.-Prof. Dr Markus Fallenböck, LL.M. has been working on the legal and economic implementation of digital transformation for over 20 years. He is currently Vice-Rector for Human Resources and Digitalisation and University Professor for Technology and Innovation Law at the University of Graz. Until September 2022, Markus Fallenböck was responsible for Finance, Human Resources and Legal Affairs at the University for Continuing Education Krems. Prior to this, he was a managing partner at fintech Sunrise (formerly Own360), of which he remains a co-owner. Born in Graz in 1973, he studied law at the University of Graz and Yale Law School. After working as an assistant at the University of Graz and at McKinsey, he joined the Management Board of e-business consultancy evolaris in 2001. Markus Fallenböck has worked in the media sector since 2006, initially as an authorised signatory and Head of Sales at Styria Multi Media (magazine holding company of the Styria Media Group), and from 2011-2014 as Managing Director of Iventa Personalanzeigen, Austria's largest recruitment advertising agency. From 2014 to 2018, as Managing Director of VGN Medien Holding GmbH, he was responsible for retail sales, subscriptions and bulk sales of all magazines and e-paper offerings as well as all CRM activities of VGN and the IT and media production departments. Markus Fallenböck is the author and editor of 5 books and over 50 scientific articles on IT and technology law.
